Harry Potter: A History of Magic

Have you ever wanted to delve into Divination, ponder the peculiarities of Potions and discover magical creatures? Then come to the Library of Birmingham and check out The Harry Potter: A History of Magic regional display. The displays have been created in association with the British Library throughout the Living Knowledge Network, an innovative partnership with 21 major libraries across the UK.

Help us to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the publication of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone with a series of fantastic displays that link together to take you from the Children’s Library, to Book Browse, and then Levels 3 & 4.

As you go along, check out the fantastic fiction we have for children and teenagers; mooch about Book Browse and discover our fantasy fiction collections for adults; find out about astronomy, botany and more on Level 3; and discover all things Birmingham on Level 4, Archives and Heritages.

Need more? The British Library’s major exhibition in partnership with Bloomsbury, Harry Potter: A History of Magic, is open in London from 20 October 2017 – 28 February 2018.
