Cityserve are double APSE Service Awards Finalists

Published: Tuesday, 5th July 2016

We are delighted to announce that Cityserve has been selected as finalists at the 2016 APSE Service Awards.

APSE is the Association for Public Service Excellence, a not for profit organisation which is dedicated to promoting excellence in the delivery of frontline services to local communities around the UK through a network of more than 250 local authorities and organisations.

Following a rigorous selection process, Cityserve has been selected as one of the top finalists in the following TWO categories:

Best Commercialisation & Entrepreneurship Initiative

Best Service Team:  Catering

This year the Service Awards presentation evening will be held at the end of APSE’s annual seminar 2016 which will be held in Derry/ London Derry on Wednesday 7 and Thursday 8 September.

APSE says: “The awards have attracted over 320 submissions with over 100 organisations taking part from across England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales. Only the best submissions have been short listed in each category and we would like to take this early opportunity to commend you for reaching the finals of this year’s awards against such impressive competition. The remaining submissions in each category are now scheduled for independent review by expert panel on Thursday 8 September 2016 with all subsequent awards then being presented that same evening.”

Brian Cape, Cityserve’s Business and Service Development Manager, said “It is fantastic to receive such peer recognition for our endeavours in the categories of ‘The best catering service team’ and ‘The best commercial & entrepreneurial initiative’.  Our innovative Development Kitchen – where the kids learn about food and help create menus, is a substantial component of how we’re becoming an invaluable partner to our school clients. We passionately believe in putting the children first, in fact our Mission Statement is very simple…..’It’s all about the kids!’ and we are very proud to have the opportunity to represent Birmingham City Council and the communities served by it. Whilst being a double finalist is absolutely fantastic, we’re all crossing our fingers for even better news when the winners are announced on the 8th of September”
