On Wednesday 30th August, Cityserve joined together with The Birmingham Children’s Hospital Diabetes Unit for a Summer Event.

The day was held in Kings Heath Park, for families with diabetic children to help support the families and raise awareness of diabetes type 1 and 2. There was plenty to do including, football, table-tennis, basketball and a BBQ served by Cityserve. Despite the rain we went ahead and plenty of families came to join in the fun.

We would like to thank everyone that has donated prizes and food for the event – Hollywood (golf club), Blakemore’s (vouchers, drinks), Brake’s (food), Radnor (water), Midland Food (food).

Hilary McCoubrey; Diabetes Dietitian said “We’ve had some very lovely feedback from the families that visited on the day, saying they really enjoyed speaking to other people and families with diabetes and that they had fun too. We would really love to make this bigger and better next year so we hope Cityserve are interested in working with us again. Thank you so much for all your hard work in the preparation and running of the event.  I thought the food was fantastic and your organisation was very impressive!”

Cityserve are certainly looking forward to supporting future events.
