Look at what we’ve been up to

Another award!

Our trophy cabinet just got a little bit more full thanks to another award that recognises the Cityserve team as the best in the business. We’re delighted to let you know that Cityserve picked up the award for Best Service Team: Catering Service at the recent APSE (Association for Public Service Excellence (APSE) Awards. We were also shortlisted for the Best Public/Private Partnership Working Initiative. What makes it even more special is that, the award recognises us as the best service team - which is thanks to every single colleague at Cityserve and all of our catering teams. Without them we couldn’t do what we do.
Welcome to the family…

We’d like to welcome the following schools to the Cityserve family and look forward to working together to deliver tasty and nutritious meals to the children:-

  • Holly Hill Primary, Rubery
  • Regents Park, Birmingham
  • Ladypool Primary School, Sparkbrook
  • Brays School, Tile Cross

What’s coming up for Cityserve?

Packed lunches

We’re working with schools to reduce the number of packed lunches brought in from home by offering our very own ‘picnic option’. Our delicious packed lunches offer the same nutritional value as our hot meals and now your child can choose to have either a hot or cold lunch.
The picnic option includes:

  • Sandwich, wrap or pasta pot
  • Salad snack
  • Dessert or fruit portion
  • Juice or water

About Cityserve

Cityserve is responsible for around 50,000 meals every school day, providing student-inspired menus focused on quality rather than cost. Our work over the past few years has seen us not only grow the business and return a sustained income to the council, but has earned us several national awards, including Best Catering Service Team for three years running at the APSE (Association for Public Service Excellence) Awards, as well as Best Service Team in the UK and, most recently, the award for Workforce Transformation at the ‘MJ’ (Management Journal) Local Government Achievement Awards - the industry ‘Oscars’.

Our motto is ‘all about the kids’ and we recognise that in the same way children are all different, so are schools. That’s why we’re always working on our services, to make sure everyone can take advantage of what we offer.
