Resource to support discussions about the Middle East

This is a resource shared with schools on 19th May.

The Prevent team have produced the attached resource to assist schools when discussing the current conflict in the Middle East with pupils. This includes a link to UNICEF UK's fundraising page as we know some pupils have been asking schools about fundraising to support children caught up in the conflict.

Votes for Schools is currently working on an assembly that will be published tomorrow, Thursday 20th May at 4pm. We will share the link with schools as soon as it is available.

We are offering an opportunity to participate in an open listening event with the Forum for Discussion of Israel and Palestine taking place tomorrow, Thursday 20th May at 3.45pm.  Places are limited so for more information and to book, please use this link.

We are also working with Solutions not Sides who have produced a helpful handbook for teachers on the conflict and will be offering a webinar for Birmingham schools at 3.30pm on Thursday 27th May. Solutions not Sides uses an innovative approach includes training opportunities for teachers, educational sessions for school students & youth groups, online resources, and of course the chance to hear first-hand perspectives from young Israeli and Palestinian peace activists. To book a place at this webinar, please use this Eventbrite link. The webinar will take place on Teams and the link will be sent to those who book through Eventbrite ahead of the session.
