Risk assessment webinar for schools: Tuesday 2nd March 12pm – 1pm

Tomorrow we will publish an updated risk assessment to support the planning for full reopening and will share the link in our update. This template will be fully updated to take account of the new guidance and will include an LFD testing section.

Officers from Education Infrastructure and Safety Services are hosting a webinar on Tuesday to talk schools through the revisions and answer any questions schools may have.

To book a place, please use this Eventbrite link and a Teams link will be sent out before the session.

The recording of the webinar and the slides presented will be shared with all schools

In the meantime schools can contact edsi.enquiries@birmingham.gov.uk for advice or support.

Education Safeguarding traded offer for schools

Birmingham City Council’s offer to schools is aimed at ensuring that all  schools and education services in Birmingham are effectively supported to fulfil their duty to safeguard and promote the welfare of children, in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE, 2020) and Working together to Safeguard Children (WTSC).

The universal and traded offers are now published on the Birmingham Education Support Services website and the updated brochure will be available there from 15th March 2021.

Children and young people – Mental Health Service survey

The Youth City Board is working with Birmingham Children’s Partnership to survey the effectiveness of mental health services for children and young people in Birmingham.

Key questions include; ‘Do mental health services offer children and young people what they need? Do they offer the right service? Are they marketed in the right way?’ and ‘Do we need to invest in anything more or differently?’.

Please could you support the Youth City Board by sharing this link to the survey and encouraging children and young people to complete it. The findings will be shared with policy makers and senior managers.
