Shared Reading at Sutton Coldfield Library

A weekly opportunity to get together for a short while to enjoy reading or listening to stories and poems with others.

How shared reading works

A small group of people, one of them a trained Reader Leader, reads an extract from a great novel or short story and a poem aloud. From time to time we pause to reflect on what we have read so far and exchange reflections and opinions. Nobody is obliged to say anything or read aloud, you are welcome to sit back and listen to others if that is what you want to do, or participate with your own observations if you feel you have anything to add.

Sessions are held in Sutton Coldfield Library every Thursday from 9th September 2021 at 2:15pm and last approximately 90 minutes, led on alternate Thursdays by FOLIO Sutton Coldfield volunteer Sally and by Library staff member Richard.

Sessions are free, and refreshments will be provided.

Come along and try it, and see if it's something you might enjoy. If you enjoy reading we think you will enjoy this! For more information, please email Sally at sharedreading@foliosuttoncoldfield.org.uk or Library staff member Richard at sutton.coldfield.library@birmingham.gov.uk, or ask to speak to Richard in person in the library.
