Birmingham Community Libraries and www.reader.org would like to invite you to join our new Shared Reading group. Our small group will be coming together to read a few pages from a novel, a short story or a poem and then spending time talking about what we’ve read. There’s no need to prepare in advance, no homework and no pressure to read aloud or speak. We’ll be enjoying the stories and sharing the thoughts, feelings and memories triggered by what we read together.

Our Shared Reading group is open to everyone over 16 and free to attend. We hope to start a young person Shared Reading group in the future.

While it should be possible to meet in a Birmingham library in the near future, for the time being our group will be meeting online. The group will meet once a month on a Wednesday lunchtime. The first date is Wednesday, 28 July from midday to 1:30pm..
