World Parkinson's Day

Library of Birmingham to light up Blue

April 11 is observed as World Parkinson's Day. This day is meant to raise awareness about Parkinson's disease, which is a progressive nervous system disorder. Parkinson's disease causes problems with movement and results in stiffness and slow movement.

The mark this day the Library of Birmingham, one of Birmingham's most iconic landmarks, will be lit up blue from just after sunset.
