19 January 2022 – What is it really like to run a business?

Have you ever thought of starting a business and wondered what was involved? Come to this session and find out how some local entrepreneurs go their venture off the ground. See how they turned their idea into reality, what help did they get and what tips can they give! Not only that but you will be introduced to the Business Game, where you will get hands-on experience of running a business in a fun and interactive way!

February and March 2022 – Don’t Dream, Achieve!

During February and March Business & Learning will be running a free six session course on all aspects of creating a business. Join Peter Hill, our Entrepreneur in Residence, as he guides you through the important elements of business, from pitching, pricing to planning and promotion, all done with lots of practical examples. Places are limited so register now.

 

Looking for careers advice?

  1. Visit the Job Library on Level 3, Library of Birmingham – have a look at the wide range of books we have on the requirements for particular careers
  2. Make an appointment with the DWP Kickstart programme – if you are aged between 16 to 24 years old and need to get your career started.
  3. Connect with Birmingham Careers Service – for young people who are not in education, employment or training
  4. Phone the National Careers Service on 0800 100 900 – an advice service for all adults to get back into employment, change careers or even considering self-employment. Appointments can be booked with an advisor on Level 3 every Wednesday.
