Water disruption simulation exercise

Working with our multi-agency partners during a water disruption training exercise

On 1 November 2018 the Birmingham Resilience Team attended a British Red Cross and Severn Trent Water led exercise in Leicester. The exercise was to show multi-agency partners from accross the country to be better at understanding their processes in a response to a water disruption event, allowing partners insight into the operational activities and considerations around providing an alternative supply.

Bottle distribution points would be opened up where residents affected can collect safe drinking water. The local authority could assist with traffic management, to ensure the traffic in and out of these sites is kept free flowing. For those unable to collect their own water, we can assist in locating vulnerable people and arranging for deliveries to them.
