Emergency Planning Society - West Midlands Branch

Professional Development Session looking at case studies from recent water mains burst incidents in Birmingham and Sandwell.

Birmingham Resilience Team today (3 December 2018) hosted a professional development session for the Emergency Planning Society, West Midlands branch. The session looked at case studies from 2 separate water mains bursts that affected Birmingham and Sandwell earlier in the year.

There were presentations from Severn Trent Water, Birmingham City Council, Sandwell Council and West Midlands Fire. Participants had a good discussion around the response of different partners and took away some learning that may help them in the future.

EPS Members attended from a number of organisations including: West Midlands Ambulance Service, Worcestershire County Council, Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council, East Staffordshire Borough Council, Wyre Forest District Council, Environment Agency, National Grid, Homeserve, Night Oil Ltd, Coventry, Solihull & Warwickshire Resilience.
