6 big moves for the Local Transport Plan
TfWM 6 BIG moves
Transport for West Midlands are updating their Local Transport Plan, a document that sets out how they are reimagining transport in the West Midlands.
The plan includes a Core Strategy that sets out the aims, vision and overarching approach to build a transport system that will help everyone thrive in a 45 minute region of 15 minute neighbourhoods. From this, they have created 6 Big Moves with each move laying out key principles, policies and in some cases the specific interventions that will help achieve goals under a key area of action.

Birmingham Transport Summit
On Wednesday 26 April, Birmingham City Council will be hosting a Transport Summit to launch the Birmingham Transport Plan (BTP) Delivery Plan to partners and stakeholders.
The BTP sets out what the city needs to do differently to meet the demands of the future. Since its approval in October 2021, a lot of work has been carried out to produce a Delivery Plan outlining how the goals and principles of the BTP will be achieved and implemented over the coming years. This event is your opportunity to find out more about this.
At the Transport Summit, we will be joined by a range of inspiring speakers and panellists from Birmingham and the West Midlands, as well as from across the UK and Europe. They will be outlining some of the things they have delivered, and what Birmingham can learn from this experience when it comes to delivering the Birmingham Transport Plan.
