If you are a budding poet aged between 11-17 years who likes to read
their poetry to an audience, then YOU could be the person we are looking
for. The position of Birmingham’s Young Poet Laureate will offer you the
chance to meet with poets and take part in local and national events.
You will also work with Birmingham’s Poet Laureate on various projects
and get help with your writing.

Megan Bradbury is Young Poet Laureate for
Birmingham 2008-2009
13 year old Megan was one of more
than 40 young people who applied to be our fourth Young Poet Laureate
and is a pupil at King Edward VI Handsworth Grammar School for Girls.
She has been working alongside the adult Birmingham Poet Laureate for
2008-2009, Chris
Morgan.
