The announcement was made on National Poetry Day, Thursday 6 October. 14 year old Damani was one of more than 60 young people who applied to be our seventh Young Poet Laureate and is a pupil at Holyhead School. He will be working alongside the adult Birmingham Poet Laureate for 2011-2012, Jan Watts.
