The Birmingham Connectivity Voucher Scheme is now open!
A super-fast internet connection can make the world of difference to your organisation, helping it to become more efficient, cheaper to run, and easier to develop.
Now, for a limited amount of time, Digital Birmingham can help fund a new faster broadband connection for small and medium-sized businesses, charities, social enterprises and other not-for-profit organisations based in Birmingham.
We’ll cover up to £3,000 of the connection costs for eligible organisations (that’s usually enough to pay for all the work) and it’s a grant not a loan, so you don’t have to pay it back. You’ll just pay the VAT, any amount over £3,000, and the new monthly subscription cost.
A grant can be for an individual organisation; or if several organisations want to group together, you can apply as a group through a landlord or agent.
The Connection Voucher Scheme is funded by the Government’s Urban Broadband Fund and The European Regional Development Fund and is designed to support economic growth by giving eligible organisations the ability to access high-grade connectivity.
Benefits of a faster connection include:
- improved reliability of service
- business growth through increased competitiveness in local and international markets
- better communication with partners, suppliers, customers and staff
- reduced costs through more efficient working
- improved data storage and accessibility
- higher speed upload and download for large files
Grants will be available for up to a maximum of £3,000 (excluding VAT) and can only be used for the initial installation cost of the connection. The minimum amount available is £250.
Organisations should be aware that they are responsible for all ongoing monthly charges and that these could be significantly more than you are paying at the moment. Please make sure you understand all costs before committing to accepting a voucher.
