Holocaust Memorial Day

Birmingham will be commemorating National Holocaust Memorial Day on 26th January and this year the theme is JOURNEYS


Holocaust Memorial Day commemorates the victims and survivors of the Holocaust and Nazi persecutions as well as other worldwide genocides and as such provides a significant opportunity to learn lessons and apply them to the present day to create a safer, better future. This year’s theme encourages people to honour those communities which were destroyed in the Holocaust under Nazi persecutions and in subsequent genocides in Cambodia, Rwanda, Bosnia and Darfur.

Staffordshire Hoard

Birmingham Museum
15th July 2012 - 31st December 2014

The Staffordshire Hoard is in Gallery 16. This unique Anglo-Saxon collection is still in the process of being conserved and in this gallery you can see objects pre-conservation and objects that have newly been conserved. Objects from the second Hoard find are now on display.
