This Strategic Assessment of Birmingham, for the City Council, the
Birmingham Strategic Partnership, and other organisations active in
Birmingham, strategically assesses Birmingham. It presents statistical
evidence about Birmingham: the people who live here, the jobs they do,
their health and education, their perceptions of the city.
The
Strategic Assessment can be used when considering policies for improving
the quality of life in the city. The assessment has up to date
information and analysis, but does not aim to present all the data
available about the city. Instead it concentrates on capturing the
information that suggests important issues and challenges for Birmingham.
This
electronic version of the Strategic Assessment will be updated regularly
so that it gives timely information - please keep coming back to this
webpage if you want to see up to date information. There is also
supplementary information, consisting of key references for plans and
strategies and relevant website addresses that support each chapter with
more detailed information.
