The Sitting Volleyball sessions are run by the University of Birmingham Volleyball Club (UBVC), every Thursday, 6pm until 7:30pm, at Selly Park Girls School, (5 Selly Park Road, Selly Park, Birmingham B29 7PH).

Further details and directions can be found at www.ubvc.co.uk/play/sitting

The sessions are run by a qualified international coach, Nikolay Nikolov, with full disabled access (including parking and changing facilties), and will be ongoing throughout all of 2013.

Sitting Volleyball is a specially adapted form of the standing format of the sport to allow those with a disability to become involved in the sport. Traditionally it is played seated on the floor, but those unable to do so are more than welcome to attend and become fully involved.

Sessions are currently free of charge for those who are unemployed or receiving incapacity benefits due to grant funding.

UBVC do offer other recreational sessions, but no other sessions specifically aimed at disability sport.

For anyone with questions or looking to get in contact about the sessions, contact Michelle Rowberry, through disabilityofficer@ubvc.co.uk or on 07825 252 426.
