Be healthy

The aim of Birmingham’s school meal service is to inspire our customers to eat healthily by providing exciting nutritious food in a safe caring environment.

Menus are designed to offer choice, take into consideration vegetarian, cultural and religious dietary requirements and meet the requirements of the Government's food-based and nutrient-based standards for school lunches.

School Meals in Birmingham offer value for money. The current recommended prices to pupils from April 2008 to March 2009 are:

Nursery school meal £1.37 (minimum)*

Primary school meal £1.70 (minimum)*

Secondary school meal £1.85 (minimum)*

* Please check exact meal price with your child’s school.
