Household Recycling

Birmingham City Council collects your household recycling every two weeks.
You can recycle a huge range of things in Birmingham: in your recycling bin or boxes. Alternatively, you may also recycle by visiting one your local Household Recycling Centre (Tips) and/or Recycling Banks.

From this page you can:

Your wheelie bin for recycling has a blue lid.

Your recycling bin also includes a pod for paper and card. This keeps it separate from the other materials in the main body of the bin and helps us sort the different types of recycling. We will also collect neatly bundled cardboard left next to your recycling wheelie bin. We won't collect anything else left outside a wheelie bin.

If your property has not yet received a wheelie bin or is not suitable for a wheelie bin you can recycle by using blue and green recycling boxes. We are committed to increasing recycling across the city and there is no charge for ordering recycling bins or boxes. Order a 240 litre recycling wheelie bin(s), or blue/green boxes to your property.

You should put your recycling out at the front of your property between 3.30pm the day before your collection is due, and 6am on the day of your collection.
