Corporate Procurement Services (CPS) lies at the centre of
the Council's procurement activity and provides specialist support to
all Council departments, other associated public organisations and
Schools in all tasks relating to buying a wide range of goods and
services using a variety of contractual arrangements.
The Procurement & Commissioning Strategy 2008 - 2010 sets out
Birmingham City Council's approach to using its resources in the best
possible way to meet the needs of Birmingham's citizens, and secure its
strategic outcomes.
The Procurement & Commissioning Strategy 2008
-2010 is the first strategy that covers both commissioning and
procurement. It also explains the need for a 'golden thread' that links
every worker within Birmingham City Council are involved in the
procurement process.
CPS as a duty to promote these aims, and
this is reflected in our mission statement:

Council to make best use of resources in achieving excellant outcomes
for Birmingham citizens.
