Introduction

Situated just 8 Km (5 miles) North-east of Birmingham, this 28 acre site was saved from development following its purchase by the City. It has now been set aside for the benefit of the community and the rich variety of the wildlife it contains. The Local Nature Reserve comprises of a number of pools, surrounded by fringes of woodland, wetlands and a wildflower meadow, making it an oasis for its wildlife.

Education and Events

There is something of interest to be seen at all times of the year and the resident Rangers offer a full programme of events and interpretative facilities. The Plantsbrook Ranger Service also offers a free service to schools and groups. The Plantsbrook LNR Rangers are part of the Birmingham Parks Ranger Service

Visitors are able to walk the entire site along well surfaced paths and boardwalks and car parking is available on site via the main entrance off Eachelhurst Road, opposite Pype Hayes Park.

Plantsbrook Young Explorers

The Plantsbrook Young Explorers are a group of children aged 7 to 11 that meet every third Saturday afternoon in the month. Membership is free for children.
