Planning policies for Birmingham

Welcome to our pages setting out the City Council's plans and policies that are shaping the development and regeneration of Birmingham.

The planning policies for Birmingham are prepared in order to manage and promote appropriate changes in land use, regeneration, transportation, employment opportunities, and to improve the environment throughout the city. The policies are also used to inform people how the City Council will decide planning applications.

You can find out about the plans and development in your area and the city centre, and also get involved in current consultations to help shape the environment where you live or work.

We are in the process of improving the structure of these pages so if you have any questions, comments or ideas, please contact us.
