North East Birmingham Business Corridor (NEBBC)
 

 Business Grant Assistance Programme

Our Planning and Regeneration service and the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) are committed to supporting small businesses in East Birmingham within the manufacturing and service sector through a new programme of financial assistance / grants.

The maximum grant allocation will be 30% of eligible costs or £50,000 - whichever is lower.

The grant is designed to help businesses improve their land and premises by providing financial support towards the cost of physical works including:

  • Extension of premises and other new building works
  • Internal works – structural works and alterations to walls and floors
  • Demolition of outworn structures, land clearance & reclamation
  • Frontage improvements
  • Landscaping
  • Business security measures (shutters, CCTV, grills, etc
  • Improvements to car parking provision
  • Professional fees incurred in the preparation and execution of works

These kinds of work are not covered by this grant:

  • Maintenance works
  • Works of a purely cosmetic nature
  • Projects already started
  • Retail businesses
  • Project where total eligible cost of works is less than £6,000

Who can apply
Any small business located within the North East Birmingham Business Corridor area especially in the wards of Nechells, Washwood Heath, Hodge Hill, Tyburn, and parts of Sutton New Hall.

Any small business that employs between 5 and 250 employees, turnover not exceeding £27 million or annual balance sheet not exceeding £18 million.

Closing date
Applications are now invited and must be made to Birmingham City Council. Funding availability is limited, and schemes will be selected on first come first serve basis and will be subject to full appraisal.
