Moseley and Kings Heath Ward is situated 4 km south side of the City
Centre. It is bounded to the north by Balsall Heath and to the south by
Hall Green. Cannon Hill Park forms the western boundary and Springfield
lies to the east. It includes Moseley Village and parts of Kings Heath. It
has a mixture of neighbourhoods, some relatively affluent, and some of
which are disadvantaged.
The Alcester Road (A435) runs through the
Ward and is an important route linking the City Centre with Redditch and
the M40.
Moseley and Kings Heath Ward is predominantly residential,
having a range of housing, including a number of attractive larger
properties dating from the late nineteenth century, many of which are
included in the two conservation areas - Moseley Village and St Agnes.
It has high quality parks at Cannon Hill (also the home of the Midlands Arts
Centre - MAC), Kings Heath and Highbury, as well as the private Moseley
Park, and other areas of importance for nature conservation or landscape
value e.g. the gardens of Highbury Hall and Moseley Golf Course.
Two shopping centres serve the area, at Kings Heath and at Moseley Village.
