Local Development Scheme

The Local Development Scheme (LDS)

The Local Development Scheme (LDS) for Birmingham is a three-year rolling programme covering the period 2006-2009 which sets out time scales for the preparation of Local Development Documents (LDDs) that form the City Council’s Local Development Framework (LDF). The LDS is the means by which the City Council will keep its development plan up to date.

Revisions to the LDS were agreed by Cabinet on 31st March 2008. The revised LDS will replace the December 2006 version, and provides updates to references and time scales regarding implementation of the LDF.

The draft LDS (March 2008) is awaiting formal approval with the Secretary of State before it can be brought into effect.
