Welcome to this page about King's Heath Local Action Plan (SPD).
The King's Heath Local Action Plan was adopted as a Supplementary
Planning Document on the 9th January 2006 by Birmingham City Council's
Cabinet. The plan was prepared with extensive consultation and
involvment of local residents, residents’ groups, schools, community
groups and traders’ groups.
The
aims of the document are as follows:
·To maintain and strengthen the status of Kings Heath as the largest
local centre in South Birmingham.
·To improve the local
environment and to make Kings Heath more attractive and safer for all.
·To guide future investment and development to maintain its competitiveness.
·To combat traffic congestion.

The Plan sets out a range of planning, environmental, transportation and
urban design policies and proposals that aim to bring about improvements
to the Kings Heath local centre and surrounding residential areas.
The Plan will be used to encourage inward investment, bid for new resources
and guide improvements and new development.

documents. Also available for you to download is a summary of all the
comments received as part of the consultation on the draft document.
