Kings Heath Park, a park with Green Flag status, covers 35 acres. The area around the main house and conservatory is made up of high quality areas with high quality seasonal bedding schemes, herbaceous borders, alpine outcrops, heather beds, trees, shrubs and a newly refurbished pool area. From the more formal areas of the park there is transition to more informal areas where visitors can get involved with passive and active recreation.

The site is open daily from 7.30am each day until dusk, apart from Christmas Day when the park closes at 12.30pm.

Access

Kings Heath Park has 3 main areas of access:

The Main Entrance – Vicarage Road (pedestrian and vehicular)
Avenue Road/Vicarage Road corner entrance (mainly pedestrian)
Avenue Road entrance (pedestrian and vehicular)

Access for Disabled People

People arriving by car can park in the car park opposite the house. However, where necessary, provision can be made to park in front of the house. Anyone whishing to do so can either call at the house on arrival or Tel: 0121 444 2848 and make the necessary arrangements prior to arriving.

The site is generally flat with a gentle slope to the North West of the site. There is equal access for all users and there are special facilities for disabled people, such as toilets and ramped entrances to the Tea Room and Nursery Shop.

Bowls

There is a bowling green at Kings Heath Park. The green is very well used by the home men's and women's teams. In the summer it was used for the Warwickshire Championship game. If you are interested in using the bowling green please see a member of staff based in the main house.

Tennis Courts

Unfortunately, due to vandalism, the tennis courts are currently unavailable.

Play Areas

The main play area (opposite the Avenue Road entrance) was designed and constructed in 1986 using the latest safety surfacing. In 1992 a toddlers' play area was constructed next to the Lodge at the Avenue Road/Vicarage Road entrance. The Avenue Road play area is for five to 12 year olds. The play area near to the Lodge at Vicarage Road is for one to five year olds. Both of these play areas are used extensively throughout the year. The junior play area boasts a range of play equipment which includes slide and shelter and swings. The toddlers' play area is also very popular all year round. The equipment includes slide, climbing frame and swing and is designed for very young children.
