The programme is managed by Birmingham City Council and delivered
by Deloitte in partnership with the Academy of Chief Executives.
The programme was developed in light of the successful pilot programme,
Enterprise City.
2 showcase events were held in April and May. As a result of this
promotional activity, 56 companies have enrolled on to the programme.
Respondents felt the Enterprise City High Growth (ECHG) programme
would enable them to grow their business through participating in the
initiative and working in collaboration with likeminded people as part
of a mentored peer group.
"In general, there was a high degree of satisfaction reported on
performance of the motivational speakers and venue. The support team
were also praised for structured, well-planned events."
An interim evaluation was undertaken in June by the University of
Birmingham and University of Wolverhampton indicating that
the ECHG programme has made a positive impact in its early stage
of implementation, as indicated in the following extracts:
"There is clear evidence that the recommendations from the evaluation of
the pilot Enterprise City Programme have been taken on board by
the City Council project team and integrated into the initiative.
A strong working relationship has been established between the City
Council, Deloitte and the Academy for Chief Executives."
"The focus on coaching and mentoring geared to developing the
entrepreneur builds on the pilot programme's earlier success and
maintains a relatively unique delivery platform for business support."
"It is pleasing to report that there is evidence that the ECHGP
is being managed and implemented professionally by Deloitte. The
feedback from the showcase events shows that participants are
enthusiastic and excited about the prospects of being part of this
innovative programme. Therefore, the performance of the ECHGP is
sound in this first stage of delivery."
