The Queen's Diamond Jubilee
Get Ready to Party for Birmingham’s Big Jubilee Weekend!
This year is the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee and the City Council along with its partners have announced exciting plans for the city.
To celebrate the occasion a 4 day extravaganza of music and entertainment will be taking place in the city centre from 2-5 June. Designated Birmingham’s Big Jubilee Weekend, the event will incorporate a host of activities during the early summer bank holiday weekend which this year includes an extra day’s holiday for everyone.
Key features of the event include the Lord Mayor’s Show, Birmingham Pride at Southside and music and entertainment in Victoria and Chamberlain Squares. The big screen in Victoria Square will also be broadcasting a concert live from Buckingham Palace on bank holiday Monday 4 June. For further details of events please see the attachment below.

The 'Jubilee Big Lunch'
Birmingham will also be taking part in the national Big Lunch which will encourage people to come out with family and friends for the occasion. Anyone who would like to celebrate and commemorate the Queen’s 60 year reign can do so by holding their own 'Jubilee Big Lunch' street party in their own communities on Sunday 3 June.
If you are interested in arranging a street party for your 'Jubilee Big Lunch' event, then please see the documentation below for further information and contact your Local Constituency Office on 0121 303 6644 to discuss the potential requirements for a road closure. Public liability insurance will be needed to cover the duration of the event (minimum £2 million). An insurance broker will be able to advise on this.
