The Local Authority has responsibility for approving chaperones and to ensuring the persons they approve as are suitable and competent to exercise proper care and control of the child. In order to equip chaperones with the tools and knowledge to carry out their role effectively, Birmingham Education Welfare Service, Child Licensing Team provided Chaperone and Child Protection Training for all their chaperones.
