Access to Social Care Records

Overview

You have the right to see the records that we keep on you and can make a formal request, in writing, to see them.

The type of information we keep will include details such as your date of birth and name and address. We may also keep more personal or sensitive information regarding your personal circumstances, health, lifestyle etc.

It is advisable to contact the Access to Records Team before submitting your request in writing, who will tell you the type of details and information you need to include in your written request.

Essential Information
  • Other organisations may request information from us about our case records. These requests can:

    • take many forms
    • come from a variety of agencies
    • request a range of information

    Organisations do not always have the right to see the information they request and all requests for information must be made in writing.
