Behaviour Support Service
Behaviour Support is an Access to Education service.
Access to Education (A2E) works in homes and educational settings to support children, young people and their families. Our holistic approach enables participation, engagement, inclusion and equality of access.
As an integrated organisation, we bring together six teams into one service. Unity, collaboration and shared understanding put children, young people and their families at the centre of everything we do.
Behaviour Support helps pupils with behavioural, emotional and social difficulties (BESD) to maximise their potential in the education system.
With a number of teaching centres across the region, we play a dual role as both a Pupil Referral Unit, where we have a statutory obligation to teach pupils who have been permanently excluded from school, and as a support service where we have a preventative role to ensure that a wide range of strategies are available to pupils and teachers.
Behaviour Support has a nationally recognised Leading Aspect Award for "Supporting Schools to include pupils with BESD". We were also graded Outstanding by Ofsted for our partnership work.
