Shining Stars 2011
Shining Stars awards 2011
What is Shining Stars?
Shining Stars is one of the highlights of the Adults and Communities calendar. It is our way of celebrating and rewarding the work of our staff, service users, carers and volunteers for the part they play in helping to provide positive outcomes for adults in Birmingham.
Nominations took place during May - June, the judging panel met in July and the finalists awards ceremony took place on Friday 2 September 2011 at Edgbaston Cricket Ground in the Marquee (Jaguar Suite).
Shining Stars Award Winners 2011
The winners of Shining Stars 2011 are listed below. Congratulations to all finalists for their fantastic achievements.
A special thanks goes out to our guest speaker Tommy Godwin, double bronze Olympic medalist for cycling in the 1948 Olympics. Tommy delivered an inspirational speech and held an interesting Q&A session. Thanks to the Lord Mayor, Councillor Anita Ward who presented awards to winners along with Councillor Sue Anderson, Stephen Hughes and Tommy Godwin.
