Passport to leisure
A Passport To Leisure (PTL) card entitles the holder to discounts of up to 50% off most activities at our leisure centres, golf courses and swiming pools.
Eligibility
Disabled people can apply for a PTL card if they are in receipt of Incapacity Benefit, Tax Credit or Disability Living Allowance (an allowance book or a notification letter is required as proof of receipt).
You and Your Helper - Passport to Leisure Card
This card is available to anyone with a physical, learning or sensory impairment who needs the support of a carer or helper to enable them to participate in physical activity.
With a PTL card the disabled customer pays the appropriate PTL price for their activities, while the carer is admitted free. However, if the carer also wants to use the facilities, he/she must pay the appropriate PTL price (with the exception of swimming, which is free when the carer is accompanying the disabled customer).
Group Passport - Groups of people with special needs who require assistance
A group card is also available for organisations representing groups of disabled people with physical, learning or sensory impairments.
To obtain a Group Passport you should write to the manager of the centre you want to use. The letter must be printed on your organisations official headed paper.
Group PTL enables an organisation to bring up to ten people, with carers, to use Birmingham City Council sport and leisure facilities. The above guidelines on carers also apply to the Group Passport.
