Grant funding available for services that support vulnerable adults

Birmingham City Council is launching its ‘Adults and Communities Third Sector Commissioning Prospectus 2012-2014’.

This outlines a range of services for vulnerable adults that the Council is looking to support via Grant Funding.

Grants will be offered for an initial period of up to 2 years, with a potential one year extension option.

What Services is the Council looking to Support?

Grants are available for services that can deliver on the Department of Health’s Adults Social Care Outcomes Framework (ASCOF) Four Domains and Adults and Communities six Prevention Outcomes:

• Enhancing the quality of life for people with care and support needs
• Delaying and reducing the need for residential care and support
• Ensuring that people have a positive experience of care and support
• Safeguarding adults whose circumstances make them vulnerable and protecting them from avoidable harm

Who can apply?

Grants are available to Third Sector Organisations, a term the Council uses to describe voluntary and community organisations including registered charities:

• Community groups
• Voluntary organisations
• Faith groups engaged in voluntary social action
• Not-for-profit organisations
• Community interest companies and social enterprises operating to meet city-wide and local needs through advocacy, campaigning and providing services.

The Council is particularly encouraging partnership and consortium bids.
