Kill Your Speed
Excessive speed is the cause of up to a third of the collisions on our roads. Driving too fast causes around 1,200 deaths and 100,000 injuries a year on Britain’s roads.
This is why ‘Kill Your Speed’ is one of the most important messages we are trying to get across to drivers in Birmingham. The Road Safety Education Team supports campaigns mounted by the government aimed at making speeding socially unacceptable. More information can be found on the DfT website thinkroadsafety.
Speed limits are for everyone’s safety and any limit is not a target. So think about your speed and make necessary adjustments for the road conditions.
What can you do?
It’s quite simple, slow down! Remember, just a few miles an hour less can make the difference between life and death.
