Bringing Everyone Together: Tool Kit for Participation
A tool kit was created by the Champion for disabled children and young people and launched in March 2010 to support staff and services in delivering participation and engagement opportunities to disabled children and young people across Birmingham.
About the champion toolkitThe champion toolkit is designed to support youth workers, play workers, teachers, mentors, residential and foster workers, commissioners and other practitioners to encourage and facilitate participation and engagement opportunities for disabled children and young people.
This enables disabled children and young people to be part of the review, design and commissioning of service across the city by creating accessible and positive opportunities for adults and disabled children and young people to work together.
Links to web pages, sample documents, ideas for activities, games and other resources are included to help you further develop participation and engagement opportunities or start from scratch.
All materials are copyrighted 2009 to Birmingham City Council, The Children’s Society and DICE. Some materials included in the Champion toolkit have been adapted from original source as indicated. Acknowledgement and thanks is given to other sources used within this pack. Please remember to credit all agencies if you use the content.
Additional resources have been included on a CD release of the Champion toolkit; some copies are still available upon request. To obtain a copy of the CD release please call 0121 675 1253 or send an eMail to: firstname.lastname@example.org
