Working for the Future Transformation Programme
Working for the Future (WFTF) transformed the Council’s operational property portfolio enabling improvements in customer service delivery, offering new ways of working and enhancing the work environment for employees
Through this ambitious programme, the Council introduced significant changes to the workplace combined with advances in Information & Communication Technology (ICT) to provide greater choice on where and how employees work. It delivered these changes within fit-for-purpose, greener, better utilised and adaptable buildings with lower total operating costs.
The four key outcomes of Working for the Future were to provide:
- IMPROVED WORKPLACES AND WORK STYLES.
- BETTER CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE.
- LOWER PROPERTY OPERATING COSTS.
- GREATER SUSTAINABILITY.
How this transformation happened
Five interlinked sub-programmes drove transformation of the Council’s operational property portfolio. These included:
- Single Property Management Function
- Central Administrative Buildings
- Cross Portfolio
- Enabling Agile Working
- Excellence in Facilities Management
When Working for the Future came to an end responsibility for the property portfolio was handed over to the Corporate Landlord.
