West Midland Joint Committee Annual Return

The West Midlands Joint Committee (WMJC) comprises the seven Metropolitan District Councils of Birmingham, Coventry, Dudley, Sandwell, Solihull, Walsall and Wolverhampton. It was established in 1985 following the abolition of the County Council. The Committee is a joint committee for the purposes of Part VI of the Local Government Act 1972.

The overall objective of the WMJC is to co-ordinate actions on important issues affecting the local authorities in the West Midlands, and to provide a vehicle for communicating these actions and their needs to Government and other influential bodies. Birmingham City Council acts as Secretary for the WMJC.

Copies of the WMJC's audited Annual Returns for 2011/12 and 2012/13 are attached below.

Each year the Body's annual return is audited by an external auditor appointed by the Audit Commission. Any local government elector within the West Midlands has the opportunity to obtain, inspect and make copies of the 2012/13 Annual Return and Auditor's Certificate between Monday 14th October and Friday 25th October 2013 by application to:
