Application For Tree Works
A tree preservation order is an order made by the local planning authority to trees, groups of trees or woodlands. They protect trees and woodlands from wilful damage and destruction and prevent the cutting down, uprooting, lopping, and topping of trees without the consent of the local authority.
Carrying out work to a protected tree
You will need to submit an application form for consent to carry out work on a protected tree or trees located within a conservation area. Once we have received your application a tree officer will assess the proposed works. We will provide advice and recommend the appropriate works in order to maintain the health and stability of the tree(s) in the urban environment.
We have 8 weeks from the date we receive your application in order to make a decision on the proposed tree works.
