Street Intervention Team

The Street Intervention Team is made up of outreach workers who provide a support service to rough sleepers. They work jointly with staff from other support agencies, for example drug and alcohol services, homeless health services and the mental health team.

Their job is to locate people who are sleeping rough and offer them the support they need. This might include finding a bed for the night or a more permanent home, treatment for a drug habit or alcohol abuse, advice on training and jobs, or sorting out benefits and money problems.

The outreach workers visit rough sleepers at various times of the day and night and can be identified by their bright yellow jackets. They all carry identity cards.

The Street Intervention Team can be contacted by calling 0345 60 20 533.
