What You Can Do
“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has”. Margaret Mead 1979
Birmingham faces a huge challenge to tackle climate change, and to achieve this residents, businesses and schools must work together.
It is now accepted that to be truly sustainable, sustainable development must focus on maximising social and economic outcomes as well as environmental outcomes.
In order to deliver sustainable development and tackle climate change we need to involve as many people as possible in ‘being’ the change that’s needed to sustain our city.
We are engaging the community in many ways, working with many agencies and local projects including the Sustainability Forum, Fairtrade Cities Campaign and the BASIC 21 Sustainable Schools Awards.
