The C Card Scheme

The C Card Scheme is a free condom distribution scheme for young people, provided by trained youth workers.

It provides safe and easy access to condoms for young people in Birmingham as well as ensuring that young people have the knowledge about how to use them safely. This ensures that the condoms are given to young people in accordance with Youth Service Condom Distribution guidelines, which include the Fraser Competencies.

All young people that use this service have to register on the C Card Scheme. Registration on the scheme ensures that young people know how to use condoms correctly, how to dispose of them and what to do if the condom splits or fails. Each young person that registers is given a registration card which allows them to use any one of the C Card Scheme sites. The C Card sites usually have a sticker and posters identifying them as C Card sites.
