Further Information

Are you interested is starting your own group up or holding training sessions here?

The community centre is available for new groups, meetings and training sessions during the day and some evenings depending on the availability of the rooms required.

Children's Parties

The downstairs area of the community centre is occasionally available for children’s parties on some Saturdays between 3.00pm and 6.00pm. Preparation time and clearing up by the person/s booking the rooms is included in the time the centre is booked. The cost is £25.00 per hour.

A booking form must be completed and a deposit of £25.00 paid on the date the booking is made. Full payment must be received before the day of the party. Deposits are non-returnable if parties are cancelled.

Alcohol is not permitted at Sheldon Community Centre as we do not have an alcohol licence.

Play Provisions

Blakenhale Junior and Infant Schools

We provide a holiday play provision for children of working parents during most school holidays 10.00 am – 3.00 pm (except Christmas and Bank Holidays) Children must be aged 4 to 11 years.

The cost is £1.50 per hour. Extra parts of an hour are £1.50.

Children must bring a packed lunch with them and have their breakfast before arrival. When possible these hours may be extended.

We also provide an after school club facility for children of working parents who are attending Blakenhale Schools during school term. The schools provide a walking bus to this community centre and arrangements for the walking bus must be made through the school.

Playschemes

We are usually able to provide a playscheme at Easter and for two weeks in the summer between 10am and 3pm. Places need to be booked early and paid for before the start of the scheme. Payments are non-returnable.

Children must bring a packed lunch with them and have their breakfast before arrival.

If places are not paid for, then they will be given to someone else. It is up to the parent/carers to contact us as we are no longer able to phone to see if you would like a place.

Junior Club is held on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at 3.45 - 5.30pm for other children aged 4 to 11 years.
