Birmingham Register Office is fully accessible with two lifts, ramp access to the Ceremonies Suite and a loop induction system.
The beautifully designed ceremonies suite on the ground floor offers three rooms of varying sizes for Marriages, Civil Partnerships, Citizenship Ceremonies and other Civil Ceremonies. Art work by local artists Neil Wood and Erica Isaak add to the contemporary feel.
Leading off from the Ceremonies Suite is a landscaped courtyard, themed around the concept of rings. It is an ideal place for photographs, an experienced wedding photographer was consulted so the photo opportunities are just right, for after all this is one of the most photographed places in Birmingham.
The specifically designed Register Repository houses over 17,000 registers, which contain details of all the births, deaths and marriages registered in Birmingham since 1837, over 5 million entries. The registers occupy more than a fifth of a mile of shelving.
