INVOLVE - Voice

We are INVOLVE - A voice for Young Northfield

Get Involved

We aim to:

  • Provide a voice for young people in Northfield District including Northfield, Weoley, Longbridge and Kings Norton wards
  • Facilitate the development of youth involvement activities

Any young people in the Northfield District aged between 12-19 years can become a member.

About us

In September 2005, following the creation of a temporary Forum, young people were invited to join prompting an excellent response from across Northfield, Longbridge and Weoley. The District now includes Kings Norton Ward and the Forum membership embraces people from across all the Wards.

The group meets on a monthly basis and has begun to make important decisions and determine key priorities across the District. This makes us a truly powerful and responsible group within the District - real power and real money! Forum members also sit as of right on the Ward Advisory Boards in the four Wards of the District.

Successes

Awsrds being presented by Cllr Brew
One of the most impressive achievements was the Young People Conference held on 26 January 2007. The Conference was organised and delivered by the Forum members and was an overwhelming success.

The Forum were also nominated to represent the City at the Celebration Ball for Young People across the West Midlands as oranised by Government Office West Midlands on 1 March 2007 as well as winning the Pride of Northfield Young Person Group of the Year.

The future looks bright, particularly with the new partnership between the District and the Youth Service and the hoped for developments, including a website and continued support and training for the Forum.
