Birmingham City Council

Gambling Premises Licences

From 1 September 2007 Birmingham City Council became responsible for the Licensing of premises within the City where gambling activities take place, as part of reforms under the Gambling Act 2005.

Premises licences will be granted by licensing authorities and may authorise the provision of facilities on

  • casino premises
  • bingo premises
  • betting premises, including tracks
  • adult gaming centres
  • licensed family entertainment centres

The various forms for applying for a premises licence are attached below. You will also find the forms which are to be used to give notice of your application to Responsible Authorities and to the Public. The various application forms and official notices of application are provided in both MS Word which you can save to your computer and complete offline at your leisure and in PDF format which will need to be printed off and completed by hand.

Please ensure that you consider the following in order to avoid any delay in the processing of your licence application.

Your Licence application should also include the relevant Gambling Premises Licence Fee together with a scaled plan (see Plan Requirements for Premises Licences for further guidance).

Copies of Premises Licence Applications should be submitted to 'Responsible Authorities'. A list of Responsible Authorities for Birmingham is attached below.
