Brasshouse Open Learning is a resource and study centre for language learners .
Facilities include:
  • Internet
  • Films in DVD - English/MFL
  • Readers with CDs
  • Language course books
  • Newspapers and magazines
  • IELTS materials
  • Past exam papers including GCSE, A level, Cambridge exams
  • Dictionaries
  • Lending library: novels, books, DVDs and videos, IELTS materials, some grammar books

Tutorial system: 1-hour session with a tutor for catching up: £30

How can Open Learning support my studies?

Do you need to practise your listening skills? Borrow a Reader + CD or a DVD or watch statellite TV.

Would you like to use the Internet for your language learning? We have 10 computers with Internet access.

Do you need a quiet place to study? Open Learning is a quiet but relaxed atmosphere.

When can I use Open Learning?

During term time: Monday - Friday 10.00 - 20.30
During holidays (including half term): Monday - Friday 10.30 - 16.30

How can I join?

  • Fill in an application form available from Open Learning. Pay the fee at Fees Desk in the reception area. Keep the receipt you are given.
  • When you go to Open Learning, you will be asked to leave your Open Learning card at the desk while using the facilities.
